I wish you has shown a close up of the hot-shoe connection. Other than the pins, there is a tab for the AX100 and AX700 units and it's a very specific fit. Thanks for the audio test anyway.

Interesting video again, thanks. Which microphone are you using to do your voice overs "off camera" in this video, because to me, the sound from your voice over mic. is streets ahead of the Sony. The noise cancelling mode sounds pretty awful when a loud bump or bang breaks through - like a hollow box effect. Not something I would buy I have to say.

Thanks for the video. Could you please do some tests with this mic in analog mode? I'm considering getting it for an a6600 which does not have the multi-interface hot shoe so I would have to use it in analog mode and I'm wondering if it would still be worth the price.

Wonder if the ECM-B1M would work with Sony AX100 camcorder. This camcorder has a multi function Sony shoe and works well with ECM-GZ1M and the dual channel Sony wireless receiver with the Sony adaptor.

There is really a noticeable difference! I wonder if it will work as well with the A7-3 or some other sony cameras without the hot shoe and working via cable. It should be the same.

I like the directional pickup functions and the small size. Very good for gimbal work. But, like many sony shotgun microphones, it is quite sibilant.
I'm more interested in the new sony xlr-k3m device, though it's not that compact and light.

Compatibility is only for one camera, which is not a film maker's choice. Weird decision to announce the mic with R IV, but digital is the way forward. Or maybe an A7S3 announcement is imminent? Surely by next Jan Sony will follow up with A7 IV. All Sony camera hot shoe moving forward will be compatible 100% sure.
