TI-30XA Clean and 'Repair'

Testing my new recording setup but also created content in the process! Here I'm cleaning and replacing the batteries of the TI-30XA.

Hi at all. I found the solution for reset. In the middle of the board under the big black part there are two capacitor, C2 and C1. I made a shortcut over C1 and now the calculator works again.🎉

if the screen doesn't reset on this - get a paper clip and touch the positive and negative soldered connection near the batteries - this will reset this model. and, yes i hate those plastic rivets too!

1:41 (2 me personally it was a Useless video(no offense just it did nothing to help me(I’m in a jam situation…)but thanks for trying to help… my calculator is jammed and doesn’t want to open that smoothly like you have it I can’t figure out why in the first place it’s resisting to open…

me: "I wonder if i can tear off the screen, take out the silver part at the top, put a raspberry pi ontop of the key detector, and connect a small screen....

(i have already done this, i am 100% playing some terminal based games)

the battery problem you mention really doesn't matter, calculators take such little current that they will last for a long time even on really cheap batteries.

i do imagine ti might of made battery replacement more difficult was to prevent students from simply stealing the batteries. having to take out more then one screw would take the student longer to get the batteries out, giving a teacher or someone time to catch them.

Too destructive the way it's cleaned here. It's not an opinion. It's some chemical stress factor on plastic.
