Floyd Mayweather (46-0, 26 KOs) vs Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs), billed as The Moment, was a boxing welterweight championship fight. It was held in the MGM Grand Garden Arena at the MGM Grand Hotel, Nevada, United States, and broadcast on Showtime.

Judge Michael Pernick scored it 114-114, a draw. Burt Clements had it 117-111 and Dave Moretti scored it 116-112 for Mayweather.

Mayweather, threw half as many punches as Maidana (425 to 858), but landed nine more. Still, the 221 punches Maidana landed against Mayweather were the most in his last 38 fights, according to CompuBox statistics.

Maidana (35-4, 31 KOs), was carried around the ring on his trainer's shoulders after the fight ended, believing he had won. The disappointment was etched on his face when ring announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced Mayweather as the winner.

Marcos maidena is a aggressive fighter but unfortunately all the punches he threw didn't land and Floyd Mayweather had a highest strategy to avoid punches to not land on his face and almost all his punches landed on Marcos maidena faces.

It seems like many people have went back and rewatched this fight in recent years and had a change of opinion on it. Now that they have brought in the scoring criteria they immediately realized that Maidana won 6 out of the first 8 rounds. And you mean that he didnt pick up 1 or 2 more rounds out of the last 4. So that itself should have sealed him a victory. The only great rounds Mayweather had were rounds 7, 9, and 10(I narrowly gave him round 6), but 1-5, 8, 11 were all Maidana rounds and 12 could have gone either way.
