I grew up in the 1960s and also watched those films with my dad who was from a military background.This resulted in a life long intetest in the war which included living history activities as an allied soldier

So many of us have similar stories for finding our true vintage selves. I live in the US and grew up with immigrant parents. We started going to "thrift" shops as teens so that we can make our earnings stretch. That's around the time I fell in love with this era and started learning more and more about WW2. Often times, outside of our education system which quite honestly glossed over the US involvement. I met my husband, things got in the way and it wasn't until about 2 years ago that I decided I wanted to LOVE what I saw in the mirror again, started with my hair and makeup and now I basically live in a 40s life style. My husband is supportive and luckily never has been ashamed of anything I wear. We live in the mid west in a smaller town and I def stand out, but I'm ok with it. This is who and what I am, and exactly what I want to see in the mirror. My home although not old, (working on that), is filled with character and love from a different time. Thank you for your gorgeous story, please keep making videos!
