2024 Lexus LBX Morizo RR Concept Documentary

The LBX Morizo RR Concept, unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon, represents a fresh take on Lexus' new compact crossover, emphasizing enhanced driving performance. This concept car maintains the high-quality driving experience and refined design synonymous with Lexus.

This innovative concept model, developed with insights from Akio Toyoda, Toyota Motor Corporation's Chairman and Master Driver, also known by the moniker “Morizo,” brings a unique perspective to the LBX's design. Toyoda shares his thoughts on the project in a brief video available on the Lexus Europe Newsroom.

At the heart of the LBX Morizo RR Concept is a turbocharged, intercooled three-cylinder engine. This powertrain generates 305 DIN hp (224 kW) and is coupled with an all-wheel-drive system managed by electronic control and a Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission. The car's design focuses on performance, with enhancements to its structure, suspension, bodywork, and tires. Aerodynamics played a significant role in its development, incorporating techniques from high-speed air racing.

In line with the Lexus and Toyota Gazoo Racing theme at the exhibition, the concept car features exclusive customizations. The distinctive yellow of Morizo is evident in the grille's plated moulding, brake calipers, and seatbelts, all adorned with the Morizo RR logo. Additional elements include sports seats, alloy pedals, and uniquely colored wheel arch and rocker mouldings. The result is a vehicle that combines a relaxed luxury feel with the reliable and satisfying experience of a well-designed driving companion.
