Fractional reserve banking ended 5 years ago when the Federal Reserve eliminated reserve requirements for all depository institutions by setting reserve requirement ratios to zero percent effective March 26, 2020, meaning banks no longer needed to hold reserves against transaction accounts. Fractions involving zero always equal zero.

However, I think that the money should show up in M2 data, but M2 seems to be aligned with Fed monetary policies.

Or, it could be the case that the inflation we're experiencing is actually a result of the "magic money" machines.

If that's the case, then now that the magic machines have been shut down (presumably), the Fed can now lower rates. Lower rates mean lower mortgages, lower car payments.
