I do that too except without sandpaper, just carefully rotate the pencil periodically and doodle for a bit till it's right

I sharpen the pencil with a box cutter like the oldies and just manually carve a point while the rest is quite straight for shading. It's honestly therapeutic to do.

oh man this is what I would do! my school notebooks were always filled with dusty graphite splotches in the corners lol. I didn't even realize this is what I was doing until you showed the visual comparing the pencil tips, I just noticed I got better results when the pencil was slightly used! good video!

Put it halfway into a regular pencil sharpener and just rotate a bit. it cuts it perfectly in seconds (could need some practice as it can ruin the tip slightly)

I also do this but I've never thought of using sandpaper. I just kept on writing until the tip gets rounder

Damn that would have been useful when I was going through the figure drawing lessons years ago. Never understood how to do my pencils like proko's
