Destroying teams 4-1, 4-2, 4-0, and 4-1 is not luck.

Nuggets is lucky? Yes, Murray and MPJ is healthy again, Jokic is surrounded by his elite teammates and Jokic is get even better. They win the finals because of Luck? No, they win the finals because of team total effort.

Jokic is everything the NBA doesn’t want, he shows no emotion, he’s so humble, and his style is not just chuck up a three like half the league. he plays team basketball and is quite literally the only superstar on any team that would shoot 1 time if his team asked him to. bro would rather have 2 points and 20 assists and a W than a trip dub and a L. Jokic is an all time great already.

Was discussing with my friends how we cannot comprehend why some NBA fans may find Nikola's type of basketball boring but then at the end we reached the conclusion in overall difference in European and American basketball culture and style of play. As we tend to watch more Euroleague we are used to top level and high defence games from the start of the season where team play much more stands out thus we can recognise and maybe better understand how Nikola plays. This is why we didn't need him to win a championship to validate his greatness, because we still value the type of play long gone from the NBA. Congrats Nuggets!

PS...remove perkins from espn

Jerk, I mean Perk was probably the worst player in the league during his era. He's jealous of the Joker.

As an old school Pistons fan this conversation is so familiar to me. The same was said of the Bad Boys team that "lucked" into two consecutive championships and three final appearances in a row. Then later the 2004 team that won it and took the Spurs to 7 games the next year. It's one of the reasons I am rooting hard for this Nuggets team. "Luck" my ass. This Nuggets team, like those old Piston teams, doesn't fit the prevailing narrative of who "should" win a championship. They just win and many of the pundits can't stand being proven wrong.

I consider this justice for the Nuggets. All the disrespect from casual sports fans and "analysts" were uncalled for.

He plays “fundamental basketball” . Simple and efficient.

I love this guy .

Facts. If my Lakers won, Perkins wouldn't be saying LeBron got lucky etc.

I watched a clip of Jokic over a year ago and then watched a Nuggets game weeks later after years of ignoring the NBA because it bored to tears. I was captivated by his play and learned about the history of this team and became hooked. Bigots and the ignorant lie that Jokic’s game is boring to dismiss him.

Here's what makes Nikola special. He plays efficiently not flashy. Playing the game at 60mph doesn't matter if you're not scoring, getting boards, and creating opportunities for your teammates. He may look slow-moving to some folk, but he's actually the most efficient player on the court. That of course, and very solid fundamentals, which many US basketball players never learn and most fans can't appreciate because they don't understand them. There's really no secret to the Joker's success on the court other than he plays the game the way it's meant to be played in order to win.

The Nuggets were clearly the best team in the NBA during this season, a fact anyone could again witness during the playoffs. The Nuggets, both individually and as a team, possessed a myriad of ways they could win. The fact the mainstream sports media and the talking heads missed the boat made their championship even sweeter. And there is no reason the Nuggets cannot repeat.

Humility is what helped this team win. The Nuggets involved all their team mates in the game. The teams with all their stars couldn't do much because their star players were expected to win the game. Yokic, shared the ball with his team. Involving all your players revs them up to play with intensity personified.

Jokic is so much more than a basketball player. He is a teacher. He is unwittingly teaching Americans how to be humble. It is a huge lesson that Americans desperately need.

Perkins you are lucky after now you are not fired from ESPN
Having a good healthy team is considered lucky bear on your mind

They got "lucky" in the sense that they were all finally healthy at the same time. But really, they were obviously the best team by a mile this past season and it showed all throughout the playoffs. Jokic is a top 3 player, Murray is a bonafide superstar, Gordon is very good, and their supporting cast is solid. It is not surprising that they won.

I have been a fan of all the Colorado Teams for 40 years, so I have waited a lifetime for this day to come ! The Broncos are treated the same way...even though, they are one of the all time winningest Franchises in the NFL. Congrats to my Denver Nuggets !

They're upset it wasn't poster boy hoisting the trophy.

Which is fine, we are loving every bit of this here in Denver! Fan since January 2019 -- ironically enough, I was invited to go to the Nuggets game against the Heat; found a love for the sport that night.
