Interesting. And I can honestly say I’ve not heard of some of these although I did guess tungsten would be a winner. Maybe I’ve heard that one somewhere 🤔

There is also Gallium which melts at about 28°C I think

Many of them aren't metals, they're alloys or metalloids

How does one melt tungsten? What kind of container would you melt it in?

It’s amazing that copper melts at 1983 degrees and 1983 is the year that the US stopped making cents out of copper.

Ah yes, my favorite metals, Phosphorus and Selenium.

Also why are you referring to Niobium as Columbium that’s outdated by like 100 years

Tungsten is a very craziest metal. Because it is one of the most strongest and most durable metal, it also has the highest melting point than every metals, it is even harder and even it is alot dense as crazy. Isn't tungsten a crazy metal??

I bet it would be super expensive, but ultra cool to have weight lifting plates made out of tungsten, a simple CD disk design, but the energy requirements would make them custom one-off's. Many times more dense than Iron as well, making it easier to push world records on currently existing barbells

0:14 why is there a metal named after rabbits? For a moment I actually thought it was written "rabbitt" instead of babbitt

Silicon a metal? Not really as it' s not malleable and it's naturally more like an insulator than conductor (when pure). But if including silicon, then why not germanium too?

different ways to melt tungsten = 1. overheating light bulbs, 2. melting furnace ! HAS TO BE MADE OF STARLITE WITH HAS A MELTING POINT OF 10K! (not a metal) 3. Plasma fusion gas burner ( reaches 20k Fahrenheit)
