I'll be honest, a minimalist design that shows recruiters what they need to see is 100x better than most of these sites which give off the impression of a candidate trying to show off.

That guy with the YelpCamp project literally copy and pasted the project from colt Steele’s course on udemy

The last portfolio was the same template I used for mine... Was thinking of sending it for roasting but I already got good feedback on what to do just by watching this video. Thanks for posting it c: Really helpful!

One thing devs need to think about when doing portfolios is accessibility, in my opinion. At least make sure the text is actually readable and your colour schemes are at least AA accessible. Accessibility is something more and more companies care about, especially since a lot of countries have laws around the topic. For my current junior role, I had to show that I, at least, knew a bit about the topic when applying. Plus, if hiring managers can't actually read what you've written, they're not going to bother trying.

Gotta say, the humor in your most recent videos has been incredible. I’m laughing my ass off over here and learning a ton at the same time

Pro tip for editing these portfolios faster than using dev tools: Go into your chrome console and type
document.designMode="on"
Then you can edit text and such straight from the webpage rather than the DOM explorer

1. Join LinkedIn
2. Learn how to use the people search feature.
3. Search for people in your area with the tags, Recruiter, and Talent Seeker. (Try to add IT recruiters mainly)
4. Add them with a professional message.
5. Add 10 people per day and you will have a job in 2 months guaranteed. Worked for me.

Can you include more good examples of good portfolios? Also, it would be beneficial if you do a quick overview of the code and give some advice since as you know code quality is very important.

Hello! Anyone have any tips on how the pop up cards for Martin Zane's projects were created. I am talking about the ones that opened when you click on the projects. Is that a modal? Thank you!

A word of advice for these people, a good site ALWAYS starts in some design software. If you don't know how or can't make your own, copy a good one and customize it.
