How to change the color of text in After Effects

To know how to change text color is fundamental and yet it's not as simple as clicking on the text and changing its color. But once you learn how to change the color of text, you will be able to use the same technique to change various other properties of various different objects such as shapes. First find the text layer, then expand it, then expand Effects, expand fill and there you could find the color property.

for those who don't see the effects tab or the effect "Fill" on the text, you have to add Fill from the effects panel to the text to show as is it does in the video
