Sprinter MotoVan | New Flooring, Insulation, & More!

Phase 1 of my 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 van build is complete! In this phase, I did the following:

- Kilmat sound deadening material
--- For walls, ceiling use the 80mil,
--- For floors, use the 50mil,

- Thinsulate insulation for walls, ceiling, and flooring

Use 3M 90 spray adhesive for insulation and Kilmat installation

- Rubber grip flooring for garage

- Sailrite marine woven vinyl for the cabin

- Swivel seat adapter

I've watched so many van builds, that as you explained I keep thinking, yep, yep, yep. Awesome to see, I planned out a van build for us, but after owning the RV we're now thinking motorhome. 😬

Looking good man. Dually definitely limits you to one bike width-wise, my 2500 fits two easily. I'm looking forward to your review of what AC you go with. I have a Furrion 15.5K on my Sprinter, and I don't feel like it keeps up much with direct sun/heat of the day. Sleeping at night it does well. They're loud as hell inside as well, so that may be something to keep in mind. I also went through TWO MaxxAir ceiling fans on mine. The circuit boards keep failing. Maybe the newer ones are better, I dunno. Excited to see your next video on this build.

I've seen a van build similar to yours, where they built a raised floor right over the wheel wells. They utilized the space under the floor to store the ramps and other various tools, etc. Van looks like it's going to be a very nice build btw!

How much did you pay for the van and is it a diesel? I'm looking at 1 in the woodlands

Really looking forward to seeing the progress on the van build! I am still so torn between a truck/trailer setup or going the van route. Right now I just use an open utility trailer with a sedan.
