Con Air - the Prisoner Airline (Most Efficient and Dangerous Airline in the Sky)

Transporting prisoners can be a tricky situation, but luckily guards are trained to handle these types of situations. Whether it's aboard a bus, or sometimes even a plan, prisoners are transported all across the globe. But prisoners can't fly with average passengers on a commercial airline, so how do prisoners really get transported by airplane? In their own special private airplane, of course. In today's video we're talking about Con Air, no not the Nicolas Cage movie, but the real life prison plane.

My brother is a “con-air” pilot based in OKC. Sent him this video and he said it’s spot on. Good job.

The diabetic prisoner is actually a sad tragedy. I understand he's a prisoner but Jesus Christ at least treat him like a human ffs. He lost both his legs due to mistreatment

I've flown ConAir. After I flew regular commercial flights. You make it sound a lot more comfortable than it is.

I got to ride on the real Con Air in February of 2007 when I was an inmate of the US Marshal's Service and was taken from Mesa AZ to El Paso TX. The video is correct that its just another plane like any other, marshals did perform the safety instructions like your flight attendants do and when we got airborne, the inmates all gave out a cheer, to which the marshals ordered them to shut up. After that marshals began taking each row to the rear for bathroom breaks.

The only thing omitted from the video was that in addition to being shackled and cuffed, we were fitted into lockboxes, which fit around the chain between each handcuff, preventing movement of your wrists. They get painful after a while but you get used to it, and I was glad I was able to knock on the fuselage of the plane by the door three times, which I must do whenever I board any plane.

Imagine trying to escape your cell, only to realize there is like a mile between you and the ground.

The reason Oklahoma has the highest inmate per capita is because we house inmates from other states. most notably Hawaii.

Nobody:
ConAir: Mmm, hello sit down now and shut up!

The pictures make the planes look so comfy. They actually look more like spirit flights, but with shackles and spit guards!

The Federal Transfer Center (FTC) is in Oklahoma. Most prisoners go through the FTC if they are on JPATS. They’re picked up from their county jail. Taken to FTC and await their flight to their destination facility. Takes about 6 weeks.
