Before They Make Me Run - Some Girls, the Rolling Stones

In the year 1978, the Rolling Stones (1963-present) released their hit album Some Girls, with iconic songs such as Some Girls, Miss You, Lies, and Beast Of Burden. The lyrics of many of the songs were and still are extremely vulgar or inappropriate, adding an edge to the album (with the already extremely edgy sound). The album was the band’s best-selling album, having more than six million copies sold by 2000. The album was the first and only Rolling Stones album nominated for a Grammy.
By 1976, the band was in decline in success and fame due to the increased popularity and dominance of disco and punk, and they themselves hadn’t had a critically successful album since Exile On Main St. (1972). The album, upon release, changed that.
Some Girls is a staple and a note of the Rolling Stones’ career, music, change, and rebelliousness from then to now.

In 1978, We used to hang out together at Johnny Balls house. We were like one big family. We'd all meet up every day after work and party. It had only been a few years since we all got out of high school, all of us went to Garfield H.S. in East L.A. so, we were still pretty young, but, we were all screwing up at work, being late, hung over or not showing up at all. By the winter of '78, I was the only one that was still working out of 12 of us . I would show up after work and find out what I had missed. But we were having the times of our lives. We would all climb into my '62 Chevy step side truck and cruise to the beach or the mountains, or the old Griffith Park zoo which was abandon, passing bottles of wine and joints from the front to the back, doing 85 mph on the Santa Monica freeway. I chose this song to write a comment on because it was my favorite on this album, but, this whole album was like the sound track to our story of 1978 in East L.A. Thank You Lord for blessing us to survive these days. Paz y Amor

Keith was only 35 when this song came out, a fucking kid! I do see that he had lived an awful lot in those 35 years. Now this song has a whole different feel to it. Keith Richards wrote his own epitaph.

"I wasn't lookin' too good, but I was feelin' real well."
C'mon, we have all been there before. Stop with you're
Victorian attitude. That's why we love Keith. He tells it
like it is. Let us walk before the man comes.

The first album cover was recalled because it showed a picture of a woman's breast, and replace with a slightly different one. It was a huge scandal. If you have a copy of the original cover it's now worth a lot of money.
