I also love how The Darkest Deal is based on the urban legend of Robert Johnson which is a story not a ton of people are familiar with. such a great way to showcase a real life story inside an HHN maze.

Insider knowledge: no, the violin player in Winter's Wake wasn't live, originally they had the idea of her being a live performer but it ended up not being in the final house. So the violin music was prerecorded and looped.

Also fun fact, originally there was supposed to be water in the boathouse scene with the guy hanging from the ceiling. You were supposed to walk over a pool of dark water with the parked boat floating on it. It was all set up and the effect was running the first night, but it ended up leaking so they left the pool empty and used lighting effects on the ceiling to simulate water being there.

I love how different the HHN fandoms are for each coast. Orlando has so many fans who get more excited about original houses, meanwhile Hollywood was all about the IPs and maybe every other year an original house would squeak through. I went to Hollywood for ten years and always looked forward to what IPs were coming . Now that I'm in Florida, I know how good the original houses are first hand, but I still do miss when almost every house would be based on a movie/show I already knew and (hopefully) loved. HHN Orlando's a different beast though and it makes up for what I'm missing by being bigger and better in almost every way!

I think the best maze of 2024 was easily Insidious. I genuinely haven't been that scared in my life. The ending with the tiptoe through the tulips song playing where all the demons popped through the curtains still gives me nightmares. Also, Slaughter Sinema 2 is a close 2nd, such an amazing maze

The only year I've been to HHN was 2019, and I'm so glad you put Graveyard Games as the winner: While a lot of scares got me to jump in every house, the only time I felt genuine fear was near the end of that house, seeing the hanging body twisted in vines with the phone call still begging to know if they were okay.

Wicked Growth: Realm of the pumpkin was just SOOO SOOO GOOD!! I remember the lines for that house were always so long bc everyone loved it so much! Honorable mention would have to be Puppet Theater: Captive Audience for me! Such a beautiful concept and stage...

2018 seeds of extinction was one of my all time favorites because the actors blended in with the walls perfectly so you had no idea where they were

She was not playing the violin live. I saw some of the cast changes and I believe they talked about it on the Unmasking tour that year.

I fully 100% agree with Halloween in 2014 and Scarecrow the Reaping. Those are my 2 favorite houses of all time. (Started going in 2013.) I will say that the 2014 Halloween was so great that I can't agree with your ranking of 2022's Halloween.

Love the content overall!

I agree with a lot of your evaluations, in particular the poltergeist house which was amazing. What you say about even people who don’t know the movie loving the house was so true, I went with my father who doesn’t know horror movies at all and even he spoke to the quality of the house. I still remember that dirt smell in the first scene, wow ! Instantly transported. I have only gone to HHN a few other times, one other house I haven’t been able to forget was carnival graveyard: rust in pieces. It had a central point visible throughout the house similar to the dead man’s lighthouse. I only went through carnival graveyard once but I am amazed at how I remember so much of the props, sets, characters, and scares. That house was a treat, was amazingly detailed, and all the original individual characters were a lot of fun. Slaughter Sinema that year is also a personal favorite of mine, I loved the creative concept and think it was executed so well, facade included (especially with those fake trailers and ads) . I am excited to see Slaughter Sinema 2 this season :)

My favorite house of all time is a 3- way tie between 'Dollhouse of the dammed' 'Halloween' and 'Monsters and Mayhem'. That first insidious house from 2015 almost made it on my top 3, its definitely on my top 5 though. I stated this in your other videos but 24 and 25 are the best years in my opinion.

2021 was my first year ever going to HHN, and I only did three houses. I started with Beetlejuice as my first ever house since I wanted to do something lighter, and then I did Bride of Frankenstein. However, my favorite house—and the one that made me absolutely fall in love with HHN—was Case Files Unearthed. It was such a unique concept to have a pulp fiction/noir house, and like was mentioned in this video, I can very clearly remember the audio from the house (like the room with the living dolls as well as the “Harlem Nocturne” and “Elevator to the Gallows” songs).
