Sonore opticalRendu network bridge and streamer

A universal network bridge that uses a fiber optic network connection for optimal galvanic separation. Given the track record of Sonore this must be quite interesting…..

Thank you for the detailed review. I ended up buying the OpticalRendu/OpticalModule combo with lps because of your review

Literally spent the last month thinking about sms200 ultra neo vs ultraRendu as an upgrade to my Allo digione signature with shanti lps
And now this?!?

I honestly thought fibre was just for making the easy home installation compared to Ethernet cabling from the router but looks like there’s a far deeper story here.
Thanks Hans you’ve messed up my budget again ;)

I use the opticalRendu and the opticalModule with the Sbooster power supply for each device, upgrading from the microRendu which served me well for the last 4 years. I highly suggest to use a better power supply for the opticalModule as well. Select 6V for the opticalRendu and 5V for the opticalModule.

wow! i knew it would be better than the SMS 200 Ultra Neo. This is getting more and more interesting! Next up,
Signature Rendu SE Optical :)

Hi Hans, following the descriptions of sound differences between the SOTM and the Sonore, I think it would be very interesting to test a fiber optical connection with the SMS 200 too. Many people report similar changes using fiber on their setups. And I think currently you have all elements to do such a test. It would be great and helpful for many people wishing to develop their current setup.Thank you.

Great video as always! I was actually really surprised that you found the opticRendue to sound better than the SOtM-SMS-200 Ultra Neo. While the opticalRendue is an improvement over the ultraRendue, I still prefer the SOtM sMS-200 ultra neo. I prefer the sMS-200 ultra Neo even more when used with the SOtM tX-USB ultra and SPS-500 compared to the opticalRendue set up (including LPS). For me, they were both equally quiet with absolutely black backgrounds so I think it comes down to the differences in the "house sounds" of SOtM and Sonore. I also mostly listen using headphones which, along with differences in equipment, will also have an affect on the final sound output.

I am curious how much better the Rendu would sound in comparison to optical out from other sources to a dac with a high grade optical cable ? In other words, the advantage might or might not be attributable to just the optical connection. I think it's call half-duplex with that type of optical. Could the improvement be the half duplex connection ? Years ago that type of optical was used for computer connections with not much use lately that I have seen.

Hi Hans, your video are amazing always. You mentioned a usb to optic converter. I went to the Sonore site and couldn’t find it. Where can I buy one?

Hi Hans, I am unclear as to how you hooked up the etherregen for assessment of sound quality with the optical rendu. Did you use it in A>B format in front of the Sonore optical module deluxe, or did you use it in place of the optical module in B>A format?

Great video - this seems like a significant development at a less than crazy price. Excellent exposition as usual. Thank you.

Hans in your review of the SOtM sCLK OCX10 clock for sMS 200Ultra you concluded that adding the SOtM sCLK OCX10 made a significant improvement in overall performance. Do you think the same would be true by adding a clock to the Sonore opticalRendu network bridge and streamer?

Hans, I have always appreciate your reviews! The real question here is.... will the opticalRendu with an opticalModule going to be better than an ultraRendu fed by the EtherREGEN?

Hello Hans, having watched your reviews on the Auralic Aries G1 and the full OpticalRendu solution, if you were to go with one of these streaming solutions, which one would you pick - the G1 or the OpticalRendu?

At the end of the review you mention the difference in sound quality between the opticalRendu and Aries G2 (with and without EtherREGEN). A bit later you mention the price difference between those two and also the difference in price with the Signature Rendu SE. Would you be able to say something on the expected diffeence in Sound quality between G2 and Signature and between opticalRendu and Signature?

Hi Hans, I am in doubt between this Sonore Opticalrendu (with Farad upgrade) and the Magna Mana Ultra Mk3 also reviewed by yourself. Any thoughts?
Thanks

So i figured out how nucleus fits into picture. Now it makes sense.
This is a great item but you mention the aries g2.1 in the vid and suggest aries would be an improvement at twice or so the price. Price aside, the choice would be for the aries, am i correct?
