I'm dubious as to whether that would be allowed without stringent controls. Otherwise, it could easily start forest fires. Also, I think those giant blue laser "instant shots" were not real but were edited into the video for effect.

If the laser wasn't so expensive which it appears to be, I would use it to make money by cutting down Mistletoe. Sell it door to door or to florists . It grows in bunches at the top of a tree {semi
parasitic} and at that time of year you can sell Mistletoe, trees are bare so it's easy to see.

Nice !!! Let me know when there is a hand held, and price comes down to like....a hundred bucks.

I need this, here in terre haute Indiana it is difficult to get people to cut down or trim trees and when they do it costs a fortune. How can I get one???

Yessir I would use it. The Palm trees on my employer's property need trimming every year if not more. Some of them are very high up. So if it was inexpensive I would get one so I could do my job better.

Although trimming trees with a laser would certainly make the task much easier it is highly problematic and exceedingly dangerous. I've listed several considerations that I feel would make this a non-starter. 1. Inverse Square Law: The intensity of the laser beam decreases with the square of the distance from the source. At 20 meters or more, the beam's power density would diminish significantly, making it less effective for cutting and requiring substantially higher initial power to compensate.

2. Smoke and Steam Attenuation: The heat generated by the laser would cause the tree to emit smoke and steam, which can scatter and absorb the laser beam, further reducing its effectiveness and precision. This could create a feedback loop where the laser's effectiveness decreases as more material is vaporized.

3. Danger of Unabsorbed or Missed Laser Energy: Any portion of the laser beam that doesn't interact with the tree branch would pose a serious risk to other objects or living beings in its path. The laser could potentially cause fires, injuries, or damage to unintended targets.

4. Aiming and Maintaining the Laser on Target: Accurately aiming a high-powered laser and keeping it fixed on a target branch in an outdoor environment is highly challenging. Factors such as wind, movement of the tree, and the stability of the laser equipment would complicate this task.

5. Exquisite Control for Cutting: Effective cutting requires the laser beam to move in a controlled manner to slice through the material. Achieving this level of control over a distance of 20 meters or more would require highly sophisticated and precise mechanisms, which would be difficult to implement in the field.

6. Safety Concerns with 1064 nm Wavelength: The 1064 nm wavelength is in the near-infrared spectrum and is invisible to humans and animals, increasing the risk of accidental exposure. Reflections off surfaces, vapor, or condensed water could cause additional hazards, making it extremely unsafe without rigorous safety measures.

7. Fire Hazard: The high temperatures generated by the laser could easily ignite dry wood or leaves, presenting a significant fire hazard, especially in dry conditions or near flammable materials.

Given these obstacles, using high-power lasers to cut tree limbs is indeed too problematic and dangerous to be considered a viable or practical solution.

In winter we need sun shine at home, and we need to cut small branches / parts of large tress in the house, and let it regrow in hot summer for shadow.we want to now the prices of various sizes of laser tree trimmers.

Looks like a hand held laser pistol is just around the corner 👍👀🤪

IF THIS WORKS KEEP IN MIND YOU DONT REALLY HAVE ANY ABILITY TO HAVE THE LIMB FALL WHER YOU WANT, AS U WOULD WHEN YOU CUT WITH A CHAINSAW

The video doesn't tell me much but the music is sweet😄

What about a shiney spot such as the aluminum on the inside of a potato chip bag blown up into a tree limb or other reflective surface causing injury to someone on the ground? Airplanes?

This looks fake to me. If it is real and in actual use, then it could be extremely dangerous. The risk of causing a forest fire seems to be very high.

Why not add an informative video description?

If it cuts a 2" diameter tree, it'll cut the top off a police car, and render non-graphene body armor most unpleasant, if not useless.

If you watch it it's a laser it cuts and then goes out.

It would be a great question: that methodology seems very flammable in a tree top at that. ??? Yes or No??
