Think we can safely say Doomsday and Secret Wars will be wildly successful. I just hope the quality is deserving of it

Secret Wars was a vehicle for promoting Marvel characters: I think partially for toy figures. But gave us some of the best covers ever.

It always makes me smile when I see 60-cent comics.... those were great stories, man! I hope they can live up to them.

Nicholas Cage is why Longlegs is still doing better than expected. Cage is unique and has a fandom.

For most part Im looking forward to seeing Deadpool, but I have no interest in the new releases they announced at ComicCon. Maybe Secret Wars can bring back a little of the golden age though.

This guarantees Blade will be R rated, whenever we do get that movie lol

It's cool that theyre finally doing things the fans wanted 20 years ago but to me its too little too late. I'm just bored of the genre.

The theater where I saw Deadpool & Wolverine yesterday for a matinee was packed in a way I hadn't seen in years. Knew it would be a smash hit then and there.

Honestly I really liked the first Deadpool and had never been into Wolverine. This Movie was comedy gold, the banter between 2 characters was worth the ticket and I really enjoyed every minute of it. I’m not a fan of gore either. The fact that I liked this means that it will appeal to many across the board. I took my 17 that have never seen either Deadpool or Wolverine and she loved it.

I can't believe some people actually thought this movie would have less than a 200 million opening weekend 🤣🤣

I would appreciate any advice on where to start reading comic books if you are a newbie. My natural home is the novel, and I was a very early embracer of graphic novels, but I still find it hard to read comic books - unless they originally appeared as comic strips in the newspaper.

Glad that Deadpool is doing well. I won't be able to see it until Thursday. Unless I go by myself....and I don't want to 😂ANYWAY
RDJ coming back seems kinda desperate. Like wow give another actor a chance sheesh. Hopefully it's not some variant. I'd like it better if he's Victor Von Doom, no relationship to Tony Stark whatsoever. I think RDJ is a great actor and as long as he plays VVD well with no Stark aura he should be good. I'm with you James. Don't even address that he "looks" like RDJ/Stark.😂😂 they may scar his face up good with prosthetics like Collins Ferrell. That'd be awesome. I'll give it a chance either way.

I’m glad Deadpool & Wolverine is breaking records at the box office and I love the movie. Will it reach a billion dollars? Not really, but this is a huge win for Marvel. No, it’s not going to save the MCU and its divisive Multiverse Saga, but the film payed tribute and saying goodbye to Fox’s X-Men universe.

I absolutely ❤ Deadpool and Wolverine. It was great. Everyone in the theater was having a blast. My favorite cameo is **spoiler** the day walker. As a 90s kid, he will be the one and only day walker.
I have to say that while I do like RDJ as an actor, he really is talented; I am not sure he is a good pick as Doctor Doom. I get the whole "you either die a hero or you love long enough to see yourself as the villain" school of thought, but this is not like one of the cameos from Deadpool and Wolverine where a renown actor who played an Avenger briefly reprises (for that movie) his Fox role. RDJ is well established as Tony Stark/Iron Man. I do not see him play Von Doom, unless they make his face scarred (maybe as a result of a previous conflict they later explain) or something. Or suppose that he is a Tony Stark that went like into villain mode, it would not be good because it would destroy the character of Stark (even if that is another Stark variant). The whole aforementioned Harvey Dent quote would not be a twist turner I would applaud or be happy to see. It'd be much better if he just plays one variant of Doom and the main Doom is the real threat to look forward to.
As for Disney listening to the fans: Yes, they might but at the end of the day, they are an industry that go with what thinks is popular. They are in their own bubble. For too long they pushed movies and made lots of money because of their previous successes. Even when they are losing money, they are too proud to look in the mirror and admit where they went wrong. Instead, they keep blaming the fans or anything else they can think of. The Acolyte is a clear.example of that.

Marvel Studios giving a giant bag of money to Robert Downey Jr to come back, reeks of desperation. Despite all the brave talk about disappointing box office returns for Ant-man 3, Marvels and other streaming projects they KNOW they need a win in a bad way as they try to rebuild/pivot and move away from Jonathan Majors trial.

I really wanted Cillian Murphy to play Doom. Why rdj again? Give someone else a chance.

Curious about how the film will do in the weeks to come. Multiverse of Madness opened at 450 million overall on its first weekend and ended in the 950 range, while opening in less territories and having a PG-13 rating. Whereas this opened in more with a slightly smaller opening and will have that R-rated ceiling. Too early to tell, and word of mouth will be good, but I could see it ending somewhere around the Multiverse of Madness range. Especially with other films coming soon.
