For those afraid of making a mistake with polk, take 6 activated charcoal capsules at first sign of painful abdominal cramps. You'll be good shortly afterwards. You should always have activated charcoal on hand for emergencies.

Love to work with poke every summer and root in the fall. Recommend using gloves when working with root.

I make a tincture from the root every year! She’s a beautiful and resolute wild plant! A warrior friend indeed!

I actually ate a few pokeberries this year out of curiosity.

My hand tensed up once I clenched it shortly after.

After a few seconds, the tension went away.

Other than that, nothing happened.

Now i know how to properly use it!

Thank you for the tip!

I heard some Native Americans eat a couple of berries a day, and so that's what I like to do. I'm grateful that it grows everywhere and I love the taste of twice boiled poke leaves. I eat that about once a month now. I let a few overtake my garden beds this year, but hopefully they'll grow a little out of the way next year! Thanks for the tips!

For pain reduction, I swallow a berry whole. Takes about an hour to start working, lasts 8 hrs for me. Takes it from a lvl 8 down to a lvl 6. Mullein smoke takes it down another point.

Beautiful! In spring, in italy we eat this plant also (me and some old men). In particular the peeled big shoots, like asparagus, but sometimes also the young leaves, in this last case preboiling them and trowing away the first water.... However.. never known of this amazing remedy! Thank you for re-spreading the Knowledge🙏

Glad to see you again. I have eaten polk greens since early childhood, but Mom always told us not to eat the berries.

Thank you sis... I use to eat poke when I was a kid I remember being so excited when spring would come and my dad would take me and my siblings to pick poke, I liked it more than collards, kale or spinach. But I have yet to use it as a medicine and although my grandmother was an herbalist this is one she didn't treat us kids with. Thanks to you I think I'll give it a go!✌🏾💙
