KSTP-TV news opens

Now officially my second longest video. Enjoy nearly 40 minutes of a station locally owned by a guy now in his 90s and how its commitment to news has changed over time. Personally I think they’ve always put out a good product and have managed to stay consistent over the years (even with some talent turnover).

Harris Faulkner was employed at WDAF between 1992 and 2000 before she joined KSTP later that year. She left the station in mid-2004 and would become employed by Fox News in mid-2005; she would become the host of Outnumbered when it premiered in April 2014. That show had spawned one spin-off show known first as Outnumbered Overtime and then The Faulkner Focus (which premiered in October 2017 and was renamed in January 2021).
