I'm 83. I spent my teenage and early 20s listening to EG. You should listen to him in a car in the dark at night. Wonderful.

My father Eddie Calhoun played bass with Erroll Garner for many years (and I believe he's on this particular number). As soon as I saw the Samsung commercial, I recognized Erroll's unique style on this beautiful number. Remarkably, Erroll never learned to read music. He was truly a self-taught musical genius ... and a very nice man!

Legends never die, their works live on forever.
Listening to this exactly 72 years later on January 11th, 2023.

I saw Erroll Garner as a teenager in the 50's at Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo, NewYork where I grew up.  Still remember it vividly.  Great pianist!!

Swinging so hard, and yet so lightly...

I keep coming back to this glorious bit of creative space that Errol (and company) made together.

Hearing this, Time stops, there is no way you can learn to play like this from reading music, he was one of a kind.

My Dad took me to see him in '66... awesome.

Yeah. Classic.
This is why we have to sample; pure musical talent is seldom exhibited art form.

Touch e by genius. With a sensitivity which has never been replicated. Also a lovely modest man. And that really is the main thing.

This, for me, was his very best recorded piece, and remains such, prior to Concert by the Sea where everything he played -especially Autumn Leaves- remain almost note in my memory since buying the L.P. in the late 1950s.

Bravo Mr Garner !

This man had a style all of his own. Whereas most jazz artists played either the main piece or the accompaniment, Errol played BOTH at the same time. Totally unique. Great to listen to.

YO! This is just as hot as the sample. Sometimes the original doesn't sound as good as a whole, but I like the slower tempo....BANGER!
