Melissa Mason and Lillian Jackson launched “Brown Skin Brunchin” as an innovative way for women of color to connect and expand their personal and professional circles.

The inaugural “Brown Skin Brunchin” had 15 women in attendance, but now the brunch has thousands of women. Jackson came up with the idea after relocating across the country and realizing how much she missed her best friend. In effort to make more friends, the brunch began. The idea grew rapidly after the pair learned they weren’t the only ones seeking connections with other women.

Throughout the pandemic, the women were able to stay connected virtually with activities like yoga and brunch. They also used social media to maintain their friendships as well.

All this and more on “Start Your Day.”
