In case anyone has ever wondered where to even start with mods in Cities, we think this video will give you some good ideas ;) Big thanks to two dollars twenty for compiling them into a top 10 list!

Would you have any other candidates?

Excluding Ultimate Eyecandy, these mods define the playstyle of Cities Skylines almost as much as the basegame itself. I feel like you really need these mods in order to unlock the true potential of this wonderful game.

I've recently come back to Cities after a long hiatus, and am so pleasantly surprised by your content and character. What a joy. Thank you very much for supporting the community.

A well deserved 1st place. Move it is really the heart of modded CS. Overall, the list itself is on spot. Only one i have my doubts is Surface Painter. Not because it's not useful, but i always felt it could benefit from some improvements. Like Sway amazingly did with find it. It doesn't work a lot of times and some surfaces always paint at 100%. Something like opacity control would be beautiful, as well as the option to upload our own textures. For me, Forest Brush would be a challenger. It is very well implemented and it's incredible for greenery. But choosing a top 10 is a hard job. Mods took this game to another level. I would never play without them. Thanks 20, your vídeos are always very empathetic.

"How do you plop the growables?"
"With Plop The Growables."

You took an impossible task, to pick ONLY 10. Yet still a pretty good list. Maybe the top 20 would be better?

Loading Screen Mod should be in top 10 definitely.

Precision engineering is not essential for beginners, but it is still the most popular on the workshop of all time

Plop the growables is nice for beginners but it is getting obsolete since the new Ploppable RICO has that functionality incorporated.

Real Time would probably be my top mod, since that mod makes the day/night cycle actually work.
Real City is amazing, too.

220 was a great choice for this video; with such a huge diversity of series, you get a pretty good feel for what you need every time! And it's a pretty spot on list.

I think mine would be similar. Move It, Fine Road Anarchy, Fine Road Tool, Prop and Tree Anarchy, Prop Snapping, Tree LOD Fix, Adaptive Prop Visibility Distance, Plop the Growables, Hide It, and Loading Screen Mod would probably be my picks. Assets can stand in for Surface Painter in a pinch, and I think if you find a good enough LUT you can get by without relight. But it's hard to pick, there's some really good ones ;)

I know "should be part of the base game' comments have been done to death, but there are a couple of these that feel like strict improvements. Find It is often just more convenient than the menus, and no reason vanilla players shouldn't have access to that, I feel. Likewise, even though Loading Screen Mod isn't *strictly* required for doing anything in the game itself, it provides such a dramatic and obvious performance improvement that I really feel that something similar should be integrated. I understand the argument about keeping things like Move It out of Vanilla, though. If you're clever with Move It then the game basically becomes trivially easy.

Awesome video! I came here to see if there were any essential mods which I wasn't using, I was already using 9, so thanks for the tip! Move it surely is the number 1 Mod!

Plop Growables as seen in this video has a lot more options than the one which we have been using!
Custom/ Vanilla ? Selection boxes above and to left of main selection menu? What am I missing?

Can you guys recommend PC specification to play cities skylines full dlc in 40fps or more (with a 80k population or more) and below 550watt power?
, but with just a little stuff from workshop like:
1)move it
2)extra landscaping
3)fine road tool&anarchy

Thats it, i dont even want to use asset from workshop

Right now i'm really strugling to play in Asus GL503GE laptop. 550watt is my limit because my house only has 1300watt power
