Lecture 2.5: Relation between Characteristic curves and Integral surfaces for Quasilinear equations
Показать описание
In a previous lecture (Lecture 2.2), some geometric notions associated to first order equations were introduced, viz., integral surface and characteristic curves. In this lecture, their relationship is explained. Loosely speaking, an integral surface can be obtained from collection of characteristic curves.
