Unpopular opinion probably but i think the perk system in ghost was most unique and is worthy of an honorable mention

I havent played blops 2 in a decade. But hearing you talk about it reminded me of just how OP the EMP grenades were with engineer. Getting hella extra score while pissing off the enemy team.

My guess is the perk system is going to become an equipment that gives you a certain perk because then you can sell cosmetics as individual pieces instead of a whole outfit.

So instead of a $30 one time payment, it's a $10 individual pieces that's part of a 5 piece set or whatever they decide to do.

I never cared about class customization until the pick 10 system. Before that, I would throw random perks I heard were good on my class while switching out the gun to go for camos or whatever. Maybe I would change the class every now and then if I was frustrated at being targeted by killstreaks to get Cold-Blooded or something, but it was rare. The Pick 10 system changed that. I would go into the class, and now there was freedom. I didn't have to fill each slot, I could leave some spots blank to reallocate its points to something else I was interested. Suddenly, the act of creating your class became a game in and of itself, as I would make crazy combinations to see what was the most fun and creative class I could come up with.

I lost a sense of fun in the series when they stopped using the pick 10. Now it's back to just filling each slot so I can use the gun I want. Except now, I also don't really bother with attachments, because I don't want to min-max attachments to see what makes the best gun, I just want to throw something on so I can get to the game. It's frustrating to me how they took such a fun design element of the game and just abandoned it.

There is good class customization in the newer games however, because of SBMM/EOMM, player's feel like it's necessary to always use meta weapons, attachments and perks which turns off players wanting to create fun goofy classes.

You're content has brought me so much happiness over the years Nero. I wanted to thank you for that and let you know you're making a difference in people's lives bro. Much love ❤

Perk system is really, really bad and yet that's not even why I cant stand the game. They have worse problems than perks to fix. Cod forgot the golden rule: PING IS KING BECAUSE LAG RUINS THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE. Also disbanding lobbies causes nothing but problems

I also think the worst thing to happen to the cod create a class was the pick 10 model. Especially how the wildcard takes up a slot, then the actual thing the wildcard is unlocking takes up a slot as well. Like huh??

The pick 10 system was so good. I wish we had a similar system in the new cod

Did anyone else like the perk system from ghost?

The pick 10 system is objectively better then what we have now but gunsmith and selling bundles is never going to allow us to go back to this…

I wish they put the perk system that they did on Ghosts. There was so much variety & it worked well

My main question is how rough and rowdy is the no fun zone SSBM going to be?

The best perk system CoD has ever had was Ghosts. The opportunities were endless and the way they balanced it with different perks being worth different amount of points was perfect. Ghosts perk system combined with the traditional pick 10 system would make a create a class that never needed invention again, more or less!

Wonder if the SBMM is lower in MW3 with there being Map Voting

Ghost was such an underrated classic loved their take on the perk system

As much hate that Ghosts has gotten, IMHO, it literally has the best create a class system.

Personally, bo3's perks and system was best. You got go to 2 extremes, all gun or all perks and the lineup in the categories benefited me greatly from streaks and spotters. But my friends who liked rushing had gungho and afterburner which catered to them. All around balanced imo, maybe not hical for attachments but that's another discussion entirely

Unpopular opinion: Ghosts had the best perk system

CoD BO 4. Different guns had different attachments that played to strengths of the player. I remember the meta bring the Maddox but i always used the rampart with high-caliber 2 on it so it made it hit like a truck and it (i think) competed against the fast firing maddox. BO4 had it so the meta was the meta but other weapons were just as good just came down to player preferences.
