Little stream from snow melts and heavy rain

2014-03-30 Every 3 years or so in the spring, there's a little stream running down from the hill nearby. When passing by on a quiet night, the sound of running water can be heard from more than a mile away. It could have been a result of a downpour the night before, plus some snow melting. The town strategically diverted water into that stream, and the stream leads to a storm drain to prevent flooding as the busy street is situated like 10 feet from the hill.
