A vinyl record is NOT the same type of PVC as in PVC pipes. A vinyl record is a polymer made from two parts Poly Vinyl Acetate and one part Poly Vinyl Chloride 2xPVA+1xPVC)... This is what makes it moldable. It is pressed at 110 to 150 tons, while heated to 160c, for it to be stable at the end.. Those two materials is mixed with additives from 4 to 25% lubricants, colorants, plasticizers andf fillers.
