Hands-On Review: Atomos | Shogun Inferno

Показать описание
The brand new follow-up to Atomos' line of monitor-recorders, the Shogun Inferno makes HDR workflows possible for a multitude of camera formats. With a super bright 1500nit calibrated display, it can operate as either a PQ-ready HDR monitor, or an SDR display that can monitor in bright sunlight.

This seems more like an explanation of HDR than a review of the Showgun

I think this was a good all around explanation that the Inferno is a future proof device. So, good segue in the HDR explanation. It's clear that this is gear is a whole other level of video technology.

The Inferno seems to make all your todays camera equipment raedy for future HDR productions the whole workflow with it.

Hi Doug, which monitor arm were you using with the Canon cinema camera at 4:55? Thanks!

I don't understand this... How do I determine where the Scene Brightness Range (Dynamic Range) slider should be set?

I still don't understand the purpose of the HDR function.  If the HDR look can't be applied to the actual footage, than what's the point?  Its great and all that you can see what HDR looks like on the monitor, but I care more about how it will really look when I edit it.

Does the editor Resolve have a HDR setting to apply to your clip? Also my OLED tv knows when it's getting an HDR signal, how do I apply that signal to my final product??

but then HDR content doesnt actually exist then does it? it all depends on the monitor doesnt it?

So, is it true, the HDR mode is only for monitoring, it does not change how video is recorded? Is it right?

Thank you for the great video. I have a shogun inferno, when I connect my camera which the mic is attached to, to inferno via SDI, the recorded media does not have audio, I thought SDI carries audio signal. Also, I can see the audio levels on the inferno, but it is just not recorded. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm confused. why would Resolve not be able to see HDR LOG footage graded? Why do you have to use Inferno as a monitor? Why cant you shoot HDR into Inferno, Grade in Resolve and see Rec709 image in resolve? The point of filming HDR is better dynamic range using VLOG...then grading in post (even without using Inferno as external monitor to PC...). Right?

How do you connect the inferno to your computer to use it as an HDR Monitor?
