I remember this game when I was a junior in high school. It had me on the edge of my seat!

The 1984 team was one of the best Carolina teams that didn't win the championship. They were rolling along until Kenny Smith got hurt, and this team was never the same after his injury.

I wish I had gotten to play in this era of basketball. So much teamwork and intelligence out there on the court.

Dean Smith to MJ in 2OT: "You know I hate it when you dominate games, but go ahead, take every shot."

Bitter sweet. UNC was the pre-season #1 team in the country and remained #1 every week going 21-1 in the regular season. Look carefully and you'll see that Kenny Smith has a cast on his left hand. The Duke game was his first in five weeks and the chemistry was a bit off. Best team to not win the national championship.

That UNC team had at least 4 future pros. Jordan, Perkins, the Jet and Dougherty. How in the world did they not win it all?

Jordan was not as dominant in college than he was in the pros.

Michael Jordan was denied by coach K to join Duke so I'm sure MJ had fun playing against this team.
