Drafted 2nd overall in the 1981 NBA Draft, Isaiah Thomas would be handed the reins to the Pistons offence immediately, averaging 17 and 8 in his Rookie Season.

Within a year, he would blossom into a 20 point per game scorer, but Detoit would fail to reach the playoffs.

As a team, but would routinely fall short until 1988, when the 54 win team would make their first NBA Finals. However, they wouldn’t win a championship until the following year, going on to win back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990.

Zeke would spend the next four seasons battling injuries, before tearing his achilles tendon midway through the 1994 season; forcing him to announce his retirement from the NBA on May 2nd, 1994.
