Piper's 3rd studio album. Ripped/scanned from my own LP copy.

Yes, I'm well aware this is already on YT. However I have my own reasons (some being important ones imo) for providing my rip of this.

For the uninformed: this was released on CD back in 2018 for the first time, alongside some other Piper albums. However the master tapes were lost so the producers had to resort to remastering straight from vinyl. They're not perfect but they're certainly better than the old vinyl rips that had been floating around online beforehand.

Just recently, two US labels announced that they'd be doing new re-issues of several of Piper's albums on CD & vinyl. They claim the audio is newly remastered but it really isn't 🤡

I've already complained about this on various places if you know where to search, but long story short:
The US labels took the audio from the 2018 masters without attempting to try & restore it further, decided to press that on vinyl immediately and are now branding it as a "new remaster" they worked on, even though they didn't edit SHIT. Yes, I do have proof in case you're doubtful of this.
To add even more fuel to the fire...the labels have claimed the music on YT now. TBH I wouldn't even care about this if they had even TRIED just a little bit to restore/improve the audio, but eh, money has a bigger voice than I do amirite

Anyways: complaining won't change anything, so I figured the best course of action would be for me to rip and restore the OG vinyl myself very carefully. I don't think it's perfect but I can guarantee you 100% that this is a HUGE improvement over the 2018/2020 re-issues and the old vinyl rips that had been circulating beforehand. Fixes include:
-Surface noise removal (made sure to carefully remove it without affecting the audio itself)
-Extensive click/pop removal (absolutely none on this release whatsoever 🤠)
-Removed audible ghosting that was present on tracks 8 & 10

That's about it for now. I do plan on restoring the other Piper albums once I physically acquire them, except for Lover's Logic since that already has two remasters.
