Hey dude, the quality manager says stop banging our precision parts together!

Nice, very straightforward explanation of a fascinating manufacturing technique

Thank you!! I heard a lot of people talking of how fragile they are before treatment but it's hard finding videos that demonstrate how fragile it actually is but now I did!

Sintering 52100 powdered steel. PM metallurgy is way stronger and harder than normal ingot or ESR steel. Much better quality finer carbide distribution and more homogenous. Good stuff PM metals.

Its amazing bro, metallurgy. I'am as a metallurgist in casting

Kind of cool how they match produce all this stuff like sprockets and gears instead of with solid chunks and metal and carving them down it's just a bunch of metal powder compressed and then heat it kind of cool.

Finally someone breaking it just so we can see it. Thank you

Very interesting, I always assumed the rings were machined from solid bar or hollow round.

Best thing about this type of manufacturing is that it can't replace forging 😅👍

I'd love me some of that metal powder to make a cannister Damascus knife 🥹

My god man. That's the coolest thing! How do I get a job doing this?

this might be piston compression rings.
I think it is far too small to be bearngs.
Wrong title but a very nice video.
Thankyou for sharing for us.

What level of shrinkage if any is to be exspected and is the shrinkage even or complex with different geometry

If this is thungsten carbide then yes it will break like that other than that it’s some kind of powder just pressed together

Customer: Uh, why do your rings look pre-used?

How do you manage the ovalization of such thin part?

Question. Is that die set adjustable? And if so what's the smallest increment + or - you can move?
