Personal favorite of mine is Kazemaru, she’s a very versatile dollkeeper, has some really high phys damage with her S2, and just pops back after dying. She’s my go-to starter unit in IS3

Should say for specter you have to take into account that you can get gladiia and a therapist healer for free from the permanent events. Gladiia’s module gives 30% max damage reduction to all abyssal hunter units. The therapist unit can also just remove stun on allies

The fact that most of them are from year 1 speaks a lot. Whenever a new banner gets me hyped nowadays it's always because of the cracked top units they rate up so it's like this rarity has become almost worthless unfortunately given that it has a lot of my fav ops

I would say Shamare(Morte) is a 7star in disguise. halving enemy atk and def is insanely strong. good list nonetheless.

If you want versatility let me tell you about kazemaru, low dp cost, covers a wide range, substitute could attack flying enemies, nuke on skill with very high attack buff, can deal arts damage via talent, archetype can sustain a good amount of damage, really strong in integrated strategies and above all, cute maid outfit.

The only 5 stars I still use regularly are Lappland, platinum and Warfarin.

Been using La Pluma ever since I got her and I’m still confused on how she’s only a 5* rather than 6* considering the crazy damage she can do

More details about texas is she is the fastest and cheapest pioneer vanguard to generate dp even more if she is at e2 module 1

Yessss. April is so underrated. I actually regularly go to her as a support unit because of the camouflage. I have firewatch built but you can't really helidrop her. As other comments mention, Shamare and Elysium are probably two important units that are missing. Some of my personal favourite 5 stars that aren't here are Kazemaru (great laneholding and starter unit), Tequila (really good burst DPS if you're lacking that), Firewhistle/Ashlock (Fortress are so underrated and both 5-star units are pretty good at crowd control). I'd remove Texas, Lappland, Spectre, and Liskarm from this list—they're kinda niche units that are alright for general gameplay

I think flagbearer like Elysium should be honorable mention atleast.

Having Elysium Myrtle combo(especially when you have Bagpipe) would change your entire account stage opening move.

Good list tho to help newer players with how new players can easily get overwhelm by insane amount of characters

i think all the aa archer mentioned here is not relevant if you compare them with April, yes they have almost the same "power level" as you said but their play style is different. April is fast redeploy ranged invisible assassin while the others are truly a sniper who need to stay in the field, even among all the aa sniper they have different job too.
1. BP is more into attacking multiple enemies and really awesome at it.
2. Platinum have the highest DPH and have more attack range than the other other 5* aa snipers, good against medium armored drone.
3. Kroos alter is good against single enemy with her fast attack speed, multi hit, and critical talent, can become invisible too if needed but people more often use her for her high DPS skill than her invisibility.
4. Insider also a good addition in the group, he have more faster skill cycle than Kroos alter even though he deal less damage than her. easier to use than Kroos alter and allow you to place him more aggressively than the other 5* aa snipers because his ability to lower his taunt level.
5. Greytroath also good, she got overshadowed by Kroos alter because how both of them have similar talent and style focused on critical and multi hitting single enemy but Kroos alter is easier to use. Even though it is like that, Greytroath is probably have the highest DPS to a single unit amongs all the other 5* aa snipers if only her skills is not attack recovery skill.

I can see quercus being a solid 5 star to build as her module removes atk penalty for her healing which means she can out heal medics due to faster atk speed

IMO, if we're talking about new player, silence could be rated higher than warfarin. I think warfarin's 2nd skill and talent has very limited impact in early game and she requires proper positioning (as you said) if you don't want to waste s2, while silence's aoe healing drone is just insanely good
