I've been doing daily Bible reading since 1999. Nothing compares to when I started physically writing down what I was reading and chasing down cross-references the last couple years. Much slower, but 100x richer.

Additional Tips:
1. Read with someone at an agreed time.
2. Commit to a fixed amount of manageable reading. If you can only read a chapter at a time before getting distracted, then just read 1 chapter, every day, at the same time in the day.
3. If you can't read with someone, then attend a bible study with required reading. Once or twice a week of accountability is better than none at all.
4. Eliminate distractions. Leave your phone in another room and read at a time and place that you know no one will bother you.

I can attest to the fact that taking notes will TREMENDOUSLY help with your learning, understanding and growing, with your Faith AND facts..Mike, I have hundreds of pages of notes JUST ON you preaching..I also have hundreds of pages and notes from my own studies..Psychologically speaking, brain memorization helps through the use of writing..and I do say writing *instead* of typing it out..writing is linked to a greater performance of the subject at hand..it lights up certain sensories in our brain we don't get from just listening or typing..it's beyond words of how much it increases your intake of knowledge and wisdom *=)* God bless Brother 💜💜💜

I love following along with a teacher in a sense. I'll listen to a bit and pray or there was one experience I had where God completely guided my Bible study and when I didn't understand a verse I looked it up. It really brought comprehension to the study.

A few years ago, I started learning by listening to you and following in the Bible. I started your Mark series, then Romans. I began listening to your 20 questions and discussions with people like Alissa Childers, a wonderful, interesting teacher just as you are. I am so grateful for your calling and ministry. I have found listening to audio Bible with reading in different tone of voice is fun ...like storytime for adults

I also have it read to me, helps me focus and a great help for properly pronouncing names I find difficult to pronounce!

Dwell is an amazing app. I can listen and read at the same time and it helps with pacing and you don't have to struggle with names in the Old Testament.
