I have been beatboxing for 35 years. When I began, the simple basics of being able to reproduce the High hat/Cymbal (TtTtTt), Kick Drum for bass (Boom bah bah), Snare (Rat-a-tat) and Tom's (Dooommm Dooommm) etc. were all we needed too be considered Beatboxers.
Today however, Beatboxing has evolved into a beast of it's own creation, were ones own imagination is the ultimate limit. Hearing a sound in your mind, then having the ability to recreate it through the ability of vocalization.
Today's Beatboxers are modern day Vocal Rembrandts, Monets, Davincis and Michelangelos. True Artists creating unheard of Masterpieces...
Lip Rolls, Alien Bass (all the many types of vocal bass actually), Inward Drag etc. weren't even concepts at the time.
Without the grandfathers of Beatboxing, such as Doug E. Fresh, The Fat Boys or Biz Markie, Beatboxing wouldn't be what it is now. Rahzel has had a major influence in transforming Beatboxing into the artform that it has become today as we know it.
Our modern day performers have transcended Beatboxing into an actual musical genre were by the use of Looping, entire tracks/albums are being created today using only Vocal Percussion.

Not forgetting my own origins of Beatboxing and the pioneers of my generation, in my personal opinion, the worlds all time greatest Beatboxers are today's generation.

My personal G.O.A.T list...
1. Tom Thum.
2. Napom.
3. Tied Codfish/D-Low.
4 .Tomazacre.
5. B-ART.
6. ZERO.
7. Vocodah.
8. MB14.
9. Dave Crowe.
10. Sam Perry.

Again, just my personal opinion.

Try not to be too harsh in your replies.
Our world Beatbox community is One Love...

We must have a Tom Thum VS Saro loopstation battle before the world ends. It might end after that though
