Finally !!! I'm a pro photographer for more than 30 years now and the use of 35mm (ff) or equivalent mft format is that important - at least for my photography. You did a very good job in explaining, why wide angle portraits are so important if you want to work contextual. I'm no headshot-blurry-background friend at all. For me photos need to tell a story and they need to have a context. Therefor 35mm are awesome these days and I use my 17mm Olympus F1.2 almost on a daily basis. Again - thanks for your video and explanation. Best wishes - Andreas

You have me intrigued with shooting people with a wide angle lens now. I’d love to see another video that goes more in-depth about shooting angles, backgrounds, subject and background spacing, etc. The example photos are good, but it would be interesting to hear more about your thought process.

Thank you Jimmy for this very informative but also inspiring video. I love your new "universal" format and I hope everybody that look at it will finally understand that the photographic motivation has to overpass the gear fixation. Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your artistic side. Don't know why this didn't show up on feed earlier. Glad I got to watch it.

I always felt like this was the true "standard" focal length for portraiture. It provides context if needed, doesn't distort too much, and is typically fast enough for hand held low light shots. And you can always zoom in or out with your feet! Oh yeah, nice sample shots Jimmy! 😎

The Olympus 17mm f1, 2 is a hell of a lens. Own one too. You can get very close to your subject. Full usable wide open at f1, 2.

I have long been a fan of wide angle photography. I have had some issues in life that prevented me from mastering it well as I would have liked. But things are changing so I am hopeful.

Hi Jimmy, I'm very happy to see you take this path. I definitely would like to see more videos that present the creative side. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Stay safe and make sure you get your booster shots.

Thanks. Appreciate the discussion . I like both the 17mm (~35mm full frame) and the 20mm M.zuiko lenses for street photography. I like the slight distortion with the 17mm. Still struggle with the super wide angle 6mm & 8mm focal lengths.

Really, really stimulated my thinking about portraiture. I often shoot my guests' head shots when they appear on my podcast. Now you've got me wondering if I should experiment w using a wide angle lens. Thx!

Nice to see you discussing how and why rather than just reviewing gear.
