You just gotta appreciate how Steve is throwing this on purpose so his fellow countryman can attend the Olympics 🙏🏻

As a controller player i must say, this challenge got me to the brink of tears. I don't know how many times i tried this one.

Whenever I tried this, I needed 40-50 laps to get into a rhythm where I started to put the sectors together and get close to improving. Before that it was always a mess. Getting used to the car and low rear grip was key. In the end I managed a 15.376, which I am really proud of. But it really was necessary to put the time and effort in to get it right for most people

Dear Super GT,
I’ve been watching your videos for many years now, but I never really told you, how big of an impact your videos have on me.
I never was the one who gave up easily on anything, but you made me even stronger and even hungrier for achieving my goals. I’m just simply amazed by your passion, keep trying for long, long hours for the last bit of lap time. Simply remarkable mindset.
I just want to thank you that you make these videos, you truly inspire me, and help to always continue pushing hard. Even if I’m not on the level as you (and probably won’t ever be), you and your videos help me to become a better driver.
I don’t know what is happening with you in your life right now, but I wish the absolute best for you, sending you big love from here, Hungary!

Glad you are growing your brand with the merch! Seeing you driving so well and still be 1s off the best reminds me why they call them aliens

You breaking down your time trials are my favorite videos. They are rare but precious!

Little tip for when you (or anyone) feel yourself stalling your improvements; spend 5-10 runs getting consistent at a pace slightly below your PB (could be a few 10th's or 1% of the lap time depending on the track). The change of mindset is super helpful for calming nerves, you can focus more on your weaker parts of the run, and if you do happen to get a god run the pressure isn't as overwhelming.

best ive done was a 1.15.378 after 30 hours of grinding this time trial and i have to say it was not easy at all. These kind of time trials take time and when you set your pr, it can be frustrating trying to match it again and thank goodness they gave us more than a week to do this one, great content as always steve! ❤

I tried this, and got bronze. I'm not surprised, but I thought I'd at least get silver. Have won a few sport races recently though, have won 4 races now, in only 15 total races. As a beginner, I'd say that's not too bad. I started to get more confident because of the advice you gave me a few months ago, so I can't thank you enough for that...

I really wish they would use this system for the qualification time trial for dailies. Yeah invalid lap happens but the penalties are frustrating. You wouldn't need to restart anywhere near as much

Love that you talked about the mindset here. One of the tools I use with my athletes (inspired by Inner Speed Secrets by Ross Bentley) is the Mental ABC's... as you well know, when you're throwing down a flyer or in a race that is not the time to be thinking about every single detail on the track... you should ideally be operating out of the subconscious with a very limited scope of active thoughts... the Mental ABC's is simply picking 1 to 3 points of focus to repeat in your head to prevent that overthinking... a lot of my riders have said it helps them settle back in.

An example from one of my Motoamerica pro's "breathe, flow, find my exit" on repeat over and over til they are back in that flow state.

I'm sure you've got your own version of this among other tools, but I figured I would drop this in the comments in case anyone finds it helpful. Killer video as always!

This single-handedly brought back memories of so many of those license tests and Time Trials I did. There is just something so alluring about knowing you are getting closer to the carrot dangling in front of you but that just ramps up the urgency and suddenly, you forget everything you learned that got you closer in the first place.

it's insane how you were just 150 thousands of a second faster than me, yet there are more than 700 drivers between me and you. This competition really brought the best of this community

I was able to put a 1:15.4 up by the end after over a 1000 miles. Overall even though the whole time I knew I wasn’t reaching the 14’s, this was seriously one of the most fun and immersive challenges I’ve taken a part in on gt! Such a fun competition when you know the best are truly putting in their best when your chasing them

Really respect and appreciate you showing crashes and mistakes. Not too many YouTubers show anything but the best laps

I am a beginner and trying hard to learn sim racing because it relaxes me. I know it is kind of frustrating at times but I can find my peace during races or even during practice. Seeing a pro racer also makes mistakes sometimes lifts up my spirit that it is ok to make mistakes as long as you love what you are doing!

I LOVE how consistent you are, Steve! I bet if you really took appropriate time and practiced, you could do so well!!
It's a shame you only tried with one day to go because I think you would've improved a lot after a good night's sleep.
