FOR ANYONE HERE THAT MAY BE HAVING ISSUES WITH THEIR CANON EOS 60D NOT DISPLAYING ANYTHING: I had the same problem, UNTIL i pressed the small flash button on the front of the camera to manually raise the integrated flash. upon doing that, the camera started to display correctly.

Thanks so much for this vid. I was excited to learn about Canon's Beta webcam software for its DSLR and mirrorless cameras, then disappointed to see that 60Ds were not listed. Decide to check the web for a workaround and your video popped up. Not sure how many people will see your video, but if this works it will have a big impact for me.

i had issues withy 60 d when i use obs normally since i make gaming vids the square in the middle never go off when i blug the usb cable and open the eos normal does the webcam utitilty solve this ?

I downloaded the 80D version for my 60D, for my mac, and it didn't work. I opened OBS and all it shows as an option for a device is "EOS Webcam Utility Beta". Am I doing something wrong?

For anyone struggling specially since they have a 60d utility now and your camera isn't recognized used the 80D utility. It worked for me.

Nice, thanks! I have a 60d an it worked for me too! I was just thinking of getting a dummy battery... maybe some other way to have AC power? It would be nice if we could turn off the display on the camera, as that probably uses 70% of the battery.

Have been using the utility software for my 60D for quiet sometime. I used a cheap battery adapter coupler for continuous power supply to the DSLR. Set the DSLR auto-off to disable, and it works fine. But somehow the captured video quality via OBS doesn't seem to as smooth as when using a screen capture device such as the elgato HD60 S+...
