Aprilia RSV4 is amazing: great technology behind, weight and dimensions of a 600cc motorbike but with a 999cc V4 engine!

Great bikes anyway

They are both incredible machines, especially as they are road bikes. I will never be able to afford the Desmosedici, but I love my RSV4 Factory and don't think I can ever go back to a Japanese inline four now!

Both great bikes, but one more expensive than the other :-)I have to confess. I love Aprilias

I think all companies should make a MotoGp Replica! That would be epically amazing and fun to have a GP bike on the street. Ducati is very smart for making that move!

This review was so bad^^ I'm glad that these guys have improved over the years. Kevin Duke basically picked Ducati over Aprilia, just because he was impressed by the big price tag.

In case you didn't know, there's a difference between an inline 4 and a V4 configured engine. Even though both are 4 cylinders, the different engine layout makes for a different feel and power delivery. I wasn't comparing, just gave a list of V4 powered motorcycles available.

its all about class! Something that all japanese bikes lack!

Your reply doesn't make any sense, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you may know a little bit of what you're talking about. Though all those factors do come into play, configuration is also important, otherwise everyone would run the same engine. But I was just correcting your statement where you said "99% of modern liter bikes are V4." When in fact it's inline 4.

Look man, I'm not into name calling over the internet, the only thing I'm trying to say is that the guy was right when saying there aren't many V4 powered sportbikes.

Both, the 10R and the RSV4 were produced to win the WSBK championship. Aprilia could do it twice... the 10R is the fastest after s1k on the straight but the lack of midrange power is really a big disadvantage on the track and the twisties. There is a nice video of 1198 vs zx10r check it out and maybe you understand the problem of the 10R

Actually the SOHC V4 is a great representation of a quality engine. It was the first to use variable valve timing and transverse mounting and the power output is around 140hp so that would help you defend the welcomed hp gains from the RSV/Desmo. I say why stop with the VTR or the Vman or the Civic. Since we are ignoring relevance all together lets throw in a nice Johnson V4 outboard into the mix. They're all V4's so you're still the smart guy in this convo. How did you get so smart anywhy?
