I honestly never see any guy make fun of a girl with short hair. And if they do they're crazy! In my opinion girls with short hair are beautiful! Not that I don't like girls with long hair buuuut short hair is a instant win.

My hair is rather long and therefore I cannot really relate, but still, I hate these stereotypes. Why should short hair only be for boys? Or why should it always be a statement or a cry for help or whatever? You like it, you wear it. End of discussion.

I really want to cut my hair short because my hair is nappy, frizzy and thick. It'll be more controllable if I had short hair. But the thing is, I dress in guy clothes because I feel comfortable in them, and my mom told me she doesn't want me to cut my hair because it'll make me look like a boy. I know it will, because of the way I dress and already look. But I hate how she's not understanding the fact that I've been dealing with this hair for 16 years now, and I hate it. I really want short hair and I have to admit that I'm a bit scared to try it. Some people are telling me not to do it and others are telling me that I should. I honestly don't know what to do. I'm so confused.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who had my sexuality questioned by another person! Literally this guy in my school is like "You're not a lesbian, are you?" and I'm like "No?" and just laughed. Funny, never got these questions when I had a mop of hair on my head. Also had another guy ask me. Then asked me if I knew any. Said he thought they were cool. I also got compared to Miley.. but I dye my hair to this black-red color so the only connection was the style of my hair, not even the color! Weird. Also got compared to Ginnifer Goodwin a few times, but, i admit, i had my stylist reference her hair, haha.

I cut my hair because my long hair was getting in the way of my activities. Also having to maintain it was becoming a pain in the backside. That and my long hair was just hanging there limply so not doing anything for me. When I cut my hair, it was the first time so many people had paid me compliments. I've decided to keep it this way and if someone doesn't like it. Tough!

I can identify with this so much. It's funny how many assumptions are made just by hairstyle. Funny thing for me is I got the same amount if not more assumptions that I was a lesbian before I even cut my hair. I used to get so ill about it especially since I had a boyfriend at the time.
I just love the fact short hair's low maintenance and just works well for me in general even if it means my mom and I can't walk past a keyosk without being assumed as being a couple.

i agree. there is no right or wrong way to have hair because the pixie cut is my favourite hairstyle on girls and i think you look wonderful with your pixie cut, it really suits you and you look really feminine

I just chopped my long hair into a pixie a couple days ago and I have gotten nothing but love for it! When I was telling family and friends about cutting my hair, they were against it. But now I have friends that want to cut their hair too! I feel much more confident with my pixie rather then when I had long hair. =D No regrets!
