Don't Hate Miners Because You Can't Buy a Graphics Card Right Now

Ethereum miners are largely responsible for the current shortage of mid-tier graphics cards both from AMD and Nvidia. Knowing that, gamers shouldn't be too angry with miners for doing what they need to do to make money from mining. It's just part of the territory.

I’m new to this problem, but I’m a 3D animator. I wanted to upgrade to a 10 series so I could build more complex scenes and render faster. But I can’t finish my college film school applications because miners decided to buy and abuse all the graphics cards. In my book that’s not cool.

Miners have scummy practices that well deserve hate. After they work their GPU to the point where they are on the brink of self destructing, they sell the things on Ebay at high prices knowing they won't last long, even companies are getting annoyed with Miners, as in the long run its less profitable. I think it should be required to say if the GPU was used for mining.

Do not purchase pre owned graphic cards from Ebay or similar, those cards were most likely used for mining and are garbage and are burned. Not only that but these miners want to sell them almost as new cards. Even if they claim that the cards are new trust me they are not. BE AWARE, and be warned, let those cards rott on ebay

Fuck miners, I had to drop from a 1070 to 1060 and then further to a 1050 ti. Over a year i've been saving for this build that i'm getting and now in the final stretch this shit happens.

Miners are the reason why mid range gpu's are all sold out and the ones being sold as "Used" are the gpus they want to get rid of because they are stressed beyond measure almost at their wits end.
Miners can do a better form of mining.... very simple
Step 1. Buy a pickaxe
Step 2. Disconnect all the cables from the rig
Step 3. Start swinging the pickaxe at the rig
Step 4. Keep swinging and making more holes in the rig.
Step 5. Remove the metal cover/lid from the case
Step 6. Go to town on the internals and don't stop
Step 7. Go out and apply for a real job
Step 8. Success.
Any miner out there should follow these steps

Miners could be anyone, and they definitely aren't always gamers.

They could be bought by rich corporations or investment companies because they definitely can afford dropping a big investments for a chance in mining a currency that they can generate money through buying low and selling high.

They can be used by corrupt rich people and organized crime, to launder money around the world because 'it's untraceable'.

You know, buying that R9 Fury back in February for $260 brand-new from newegg is starting to feel like one of the luckiest days I've ever had and one of the best decisions I ever made. I just BARELY managed to avoid this debacle! LOL
