Let’s talk about what would happen if you got nine hours of sleep for seven days in a row. I would typically only get about six and a half hours of sleep. So, I decided to do an experiment on myself to see what would happen if I got nine hours of sleep.

What can happen if you don’t get good sleep:
1. Lowered immune system
2. Increased risk of heart attack and stroke
3. Altered blood sugars (increased hunger and cravings)
4. Cognitive decline
5. Worsened mood
6. Increased stress
7. Weight gain

I’ve seen amazing results since I’ve started getting nine hours of sleep at night. Here are a few things I’ve noticed:
• My neck, which is usually very stiff, is flexible (no inflammation)
• My mood is better (a lot more stress tolerance)
• I have more focus and concentration
• I have less hunger
• I have more endurance
• I’m getting better recovery

Because I was so used to getting six and half hours of sleep, I had to train myself to sleep longer. Here’s what I did:
• I’m in bed by 9:30 pm
• I take one capful of my Friendly Bacteria Probiotic Liquid
• I take one magnesium lactate supplement
• I take 3 of my Sleep Aid supplement
• I exercise for 1 hour earlier in the day so that I’m more tired

I have suffered from insomnia for most of my life and it is so difficult to function. I’ve tried everything! 9 hours of sleep would be heavenly!

I'm 65 and have always slept 9 hours straight through. My family and my husband say I sleep like the dead. Nothing wakes me up.

I have gotten 8 hours of quality sleep every night for decades and I look young for my age and in excellent physical condition. My sleep pattern started because my career demanded 100% of me daily both physically and mentally. I just couldn't be tired on the job.

I started running and I didn’t run before. It wears me out. So I sleep so much better and longer. Def find some exhausting workout to add to your life. I drink some sleepy time tea at night...it’s magic combo for me.

My sleep gets disturbed with light. I’m now using a full blackout curtain. Makes the room full dark. Now I can sleep till 7 am.

I agree 100%. I need at least 9 hours of sleep. That's always been my sweet spot from when I was a kid.

My wife sleeps only for 7 hours a day. But the day she sleeps more than that, her mood appears great. So yes, it’s always good to sleep more.

My sleep has improved since I started mindfulness and deep breathing and I repeat it if I wake during the night. Works a treat.

I was told when I was younger that sleeping 9 hrs & more is unhealthier than sleeping 7 hrs a night. I always knew this was wrong as I was always more energetic & in the moment than my less sleep counterparts (I have also aged better than the lesser sleepers). I am glad that the science is finally showing that I was right to sleep more, thank you for the video Sir :)

its the best thing i can do haha, whenever i sleep 9 to 10 hrs i feel great than sleeping 5 to 6 hrs, there is a huge difference between those two, i love having 10 hrs of sleep, my face is glowing, my body is more energetic, i eat less and healthier, i dont get tired during the day, having unlimited endurance is the best thing u can get. Thank you Doc for this video and for the explanation :)

I used to sleep 4-6 hours daily but retrained myself to sleep to 7 hours. I’m going to attempt for 9 hours, because I have noticed I’m a nicer person, more patient and can concerntrate better with more sleep. I think I trained myself to think I never had enough time so I slept less, but actually I was being less productive and more grouchy. Even if I can get to 8 it will be quite an achievement. Thank you for your inspiration ❤️

*laughs in excellent deep sleeper*

People always ask how can I possibly look 15 years younger... and dismiss my reply when I say that a big factor is that I’ve always loved to sleep. If possible, I’ll even sleep 10 hours, I’m naturally a night owl so I even plan my life and jobs accordingly. I’ve taken cal/mag/zinc with vit C (to feed my adrenals) for decades before bed, and I try not to eat at least 3 hours before as well. I’ve also never been much of a breakfast person so intermittent fasting came naturally to me. Listening to this video makes me happy! 💪🏻😊 😴 🦉

My body's personal sleep requirement is 9-11 hours. I am self employed so thankfully I can get that amount often. Other people can do fine with 6-8 hours of sleep, but the recommended 8 hours has never been enough for me even when I was a child. Its important to listen to your own body because each body requires different amounts of sleep.

I don't sleep well and I've tried everything. It's due to menopause - hot flashes and night sweats. Hubby sleeps like a baby while I suffer. Good for you men. You don't have to worry about menopause.
