I have so much trouble defending my final third. If they’re patient and just do simple A passes back and forth it feels like there’s nothing I can do. If I press I get punished. If I try to stay back and protect passing lanes eventually they find a striker in the box and get it past my CB.

1:52 My problem is the switching here. The player switching is messed up, it wont switch to the player closest, it will switch to the LB or RB or something stupid.

People saying the game is 'fixed' because defending is nerfed are just bad attackers, I had no problem breaking down most defenses before, but now, that skill threshold is gone and everything just feels really hacky, we need another update no question

Agree with so many comments here. This game is just who can score more without caring about defenders. They are so sluggish to move and the opposition strikers can move so quickly.

2:10 the slide tackle there, i did the same thing for intercepting a through ball, and my defender also got the ball first but also had slight contact with toty salah and boom a penalty is given. The 2 tackle tax on toty players is horrible. Everything lands on their feet again. It's so not fun to face a toty card when u have 82 pace CBS

So is it almost a necessity to play with 2 CDMs? I've been trying 2 fullbacks, 2 CBs, and either 1 cdm or 3 CM combos and have been getting battered on through ball gaps ... haven't tried a 2 CDM formation yet

6:45 respectfully, I don’t think this guy was a good attacking opponent because when you closed the gap with your CB to cut off the pass, there’s nothing stopping him from continuing down the wing and passing it across goal. With the AI nerf that is the difficult bit: CQ defending because you cannot put all your players in the correct position in the time an attack takes. Any tips?

if the cb are positioned badly your skills at defending mean nothing, this patch dumbed down ai defence

I’d say I’m an average/slightly above average player and throughout my years of playing FIFA, I’ve never conceded an absurd amount of goals in ANY FIFA game until this patch. I’ve played from 13-17, 20-25 and I know how to manually defend enough not to concede a ridiculous number of goals. This patch is unbalanced due to how powerful pace is and makes defending way too difficult. Ai defending needs a little buff because it just seems non-existent to me. It also doesn’t help that GKs now are just utterly useless
