2012 Toyota Prius c

I bought the Prius C a couple days ago and driving is Fun again! Incredible how you can save so much gas by running around on the electric Motor. Other cars are burning gas stopping at a red light. Not the Prius! When you come to a complete stop, there is
no engine turning, no motor warming up. Depending on your driving skills, if you are very conservative, you can edge up to 80 mpg or even more! I love this car and
can't wait to have a reason to jump into it and drive around town!!!

@JAYFROMHARLEM - It doesn't work that way. The battery pack can only supply 26 HP worth of power. So when the engine is at full throttle, you can only add 26HP. Remember that in the Prius the gas engine is also turning a generator and part of that power goes to the drive motor. That is why the drive motor is 60 HP.

Not only economical and fun but on the 2019 most reliable cars and SUV video it is the second most reliable model over 6 years on the market without one hybrid system or battery breakdown reported. I have the 2013 Aqua and it has been great for my daily commute and handles nicer than the Prius S Ihad before it.

@lvrboi86 A excellent question (that I don't know the answer to). I was just talking to a friend about the next time I get a hybrid, one test will be doing my best to get the worst possible mileage. I'll have Evil Twin to do that part...

@JAYFROMHARLEM One does not simply add horsepower. Because the petrol engine and the electric motor produce their maximum HP and torque at different RPMs, the maximum combined power output is only 99.

You say "c is for city" but would this still be a good car for 5-6 hour trips?

I bought a Prius c four a few months ago. The acceleration is weak and the engine really sounds like it's struggling when you need speed. It also doesn't like bumpy roads either.

That said, I'm loving the average 52 mpg combined city/freeway I'm getting, and usually only need gas every other week. It does go down in colder weather though, so keep that in mind. No belts in the engine hopefully means less maintenance costs down the road as well.

just test drove this car today, the car drives very nicely in the city. handling is tight and actually pretty responsive. suspension is on the firm side and the pick-up is also surprisingly decent for only having 99hp. i haven't driven on the freeway but i think it will do fine... the car only weighs around 2400# but it doesn't feel light at all on the contrary it feels weighty & grounded, this car is perfect for daily commuting and running errands around town. my personal grade is A minus.

Why don't they mention that the Prius C wildly EXCEEDS the EPA numbers while all the rest fall short. Perhaps no one in America has done as much research into this as I have. 349 days ago I purchased a new 2012 Prius C. It is BY FAR the greatest car I've ever owned. Possibly the greatest machine ever crafted by the hand of man, aside from the Saturn 5 rocket. This car is everything the talking head say it is, excapt wildly more fuel efficient. Love this car! GET ONE!

Bought one around the new year. Main complaint so far is blind spot created by rear view mirror and passenger side pillar while looking forward through windshield. Takes some getting used to.
