Fisun Guner is reviewing Hilma af Klint: Painting the Unseeen at the Serpentine Galley. Serpentine Galleries presents an exhibition of Swedish painter Hilma af Klint (1862–1944), who is now regarded as a pioneer of abstract art. While her paintings were not seen publicly until 1986, her work from the early 20th century pre-dates the first purely abstract paintings by Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian and Kazimir Malevich.

I read up a lot about her fascinating story. When I finally saw her work in person for the first time (Guggenheim) I was so moved by her work that I admit having to hold back tears of emotion.
The total amount of works that poured out of secrecy, her journals and story will probably be the biggest gift to the art world for generations to come.

Her work is what the world needs now — to visualize and understand that all people are connected to those we share the earth with presently, and those behind and ahead of us. Her work is evidence of connectedness to something bigger than us that we are just beginning to understand.

Wonderful inspired work. It is more than art it actually awakes your DNA. This is a gift to humanity from humanity 😉

She was painting abstractions ahead of Kardinsky and Malevich. She knew she would not had the same credits as them ( being a woman ), and wisely preferred the world to know her abstractions at a moment when they were receptive and understanding. More than 20 years after her death. It was 1985 when they were exhibited for the very first time.

How amazing! Wonderfully creative! And done in a spiritualist milieu? Hmm. . .

While perhaps not sure if you're entirely seduced by the whole body of Hilma af Klint's work, you do admit to admiring its boldness.

A wonderful painter but would you please use a speaker with a louder voice. Some of us don't hear too well. I had trouble hearing her with my hearing aides in.
