A follow-up with some additional context from my initial impressions on the Librem 5 Linux-based smart phone from Purism. I explain why I judged the device the way I did, and how Purism has set expectations for the Evergreen batch.

Given the fact Apple and Google are pulling apps and censoring people of late, I don't care too much for any iPhone/Samsung fan boy-esque reviews, once it works, secures my privacy and isn't using iOS and Android apps, this review as cool as it is and i understand the context, pales in the shade of what Purism claims to offer. I agree, all decision must be based on accurate as possible information, still going after one for the OS.

Appreciate you posting a follow up and I especially appreciate you responding to /u/seba_dos1's response to the spontaneous reboot portion of your original video. I doubt we'll get a mea culpa in the reddit thread where I've posted your response and specifically pointed this part out, but at the very least at least some users will see that the phone does in fact spontaneously reboot and that its reproducible and that Purism would rather just pretend that's not a thing than own up and fix it... for now.

Oh and I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Wasn't a fan of the two different camera angles. Came off awkwardly, but love your information.

Thanks for this, I am going to link to this (like your previous video), as you are dead on. I like the work of the engineers who work on PureOS, but their marketing is full of bullsh*t.

That said, consider yourself extremely lucky that you have received your phone this early. I ordered in October of 2017 and am still waiting for the „confirm address and pick a modem email“.

Maybe speak a bit slower or with some breaks between sentences. So non-native speakers can understand you better
