Can you share how you made your PVC bed covers? Specifically how you got consistent bends in the PVC?

You’ve inspired me to plant again… the slugs have consumed every single carrot that germinated… depressing. I will just have to be more diligent in killing them. Slugs are about the only pest I do war with. I go out after dark and water slug prone plants with a solution of one part household cleaning ammonia with ten parts water. It kills slugs on contact and the ammonia is actually a nitrogenous fertilizer… not the perfect nitrogen fo carrots, but at least it’s not toxic. I don’t rinse the plants and have never lost one from chemical burning. I also use it on my beans and brassicas.

On a separate note, for years I lost a huge percentage of my carrots to skinny little maggots. Then I discovered that if I plant about three rows carrots to one row of leeks, I no longer have this problem .

Why do you add the rows of mulch? Will you spread it over the carrots once they begin growing? I did this in my carrot bed as your video instructs and I think the robbins are spreading my mulch everywhere because every day I have to straighten it out again. Hopefully I get some sprouts !
