In the patriarchal period, the manifestation of the second person of the Trinity is the Angel of the Lord.

In Exodus, there is an identification between the Angel of the Lord and the glory or the glory-cloud or the glory-spirit phenomenon.

Israel breaks the covenant and become liable to the curses of the covenant.
