When I read 1984 in school (around 1992) I thought the book was ridiculously cynical. 30 years later as I watch all this I am horrified.

I watched a video of a school board meeting where a parent wanted to hold a moment of silence for the Holocaust victims and a couple Moms for Liberty started fake coughing, it was so disgusting. Also, that woman that defended the Hitler quote and people cheering was just as disgusting.

Teachers are quitting. They can’t find qualified replacements. The same is happening with University Professors. There is a massive exodus from Florida. Construction workers gone. Farmers field hands gone. There will be food shortages and higher prices at the grocery store. Thanks Desantis and the GOP. I must admit, I am amused by the name "Mom's for Liberty." Exactly what one would expect by a group attempting to control how other people's children can think and what they can read. Liberty, right? Normally, as we mature, we question ourselves. That is how we grow. Maybe these moms would benefit from a bit of introspection as to what they are terrified of and why they need to lie, threaten and be disingenuous to promote their agenda if it is so supposedly good?
