Dear Science Channel, I am a Greek-speaking subscriber of your channel.
For many many years I have been trying to understand the difference between the phrases, Milky Way and Galaxy.
In greek language, both phrases, "milky way" and "galaxy", means exactly the same thing. Galaxy=Ghalaxias=Γαλαξίας
Milk=Ghala=Γάλα.
When I hear all scients calling our galaxy as milky way, it becomes the most confusing.
Can anyone here, explain the English etymology of both phrases...?
